The Palm Beach Food and Wine Festival, a decadent array of epicurean delights and fine wines, attracts more than 500 guests annually. This year, the event is scheduled for Thursday, December 10 and will feature more than 30 tasting stations hosted by the most exclusive restaurants in Palm Beach, and Southern Wines and Spirits.
VIP guests are invited into the event from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. to enjoy petite tastings by this year’s featured chefs: 2008 James Beard Award winner Michelle Bernstein; Tim Andriola, owner of Timō Restaurant in Sunny Isles; and Food Network frequenter Johnny Vinczencz of Johnny V and Smith & Jones Restaurants in Fort Lauderdale.
The 2009 charity partner is Feeding South Florida, formerly Daily Bread Food Bank, a not-for-profit organization that empowers other South Florida not-for-profit organizations to feed and improve the lives of impoverished individuals. Feeding South Florida will receive 50 percent of ticket sales.

Worth Avenue Location Unveils Brunello Cucinelli Shop, Enhanced Designer Salon and New Ready- to-Wear and Contemporary Collections
Palm Beach, Florida (October 6, 2009) – Saks Fifth Avenue Palm Beach will complete an expansion project creating a new home for its designer salon with 3,500 additional square feet in November. The new space welcomes a Brunello Cucinelli shop exclusive to Saks Fifth Avenue Palm Beach and accommodates the store’s robust assortment of ready-to-wear collections, including Giambattista Valli, which is new and exclusive to Saks Fifth Avenue in the Palm Beach area; Roberto Cavalli; Brian Reyes, and emerging designer Marios Schwab.
“Saks Fifth Avenue has been an integral part of Palm Beach fashion for over 80 years, and this expansion is part of our goal to be a destination for one-of-a-kind custom pieces, inspiring gowns, and the foremost fashion collections for the always stylish Palm Beach community,” said General Manager Lori Berg.
The new décor of the Designer Salon has been enhanced to compliment the glamour and timelessness of the collections it houses. It features an illuminated glass column made up of cascading crystals from Charles Loomis. Custom bronze sculptures from Leonard Metal Art Works anchor the mannequins, lifting the forms off the floor to give the appearance of floating. In addition to the 450-square-foot shop for the Brunello Cucinelli collection created by the Italian brand’s innovative design team, a new home has been created for Yoly Munoz, the well-known Palm Beach couture gown designer now based at Saks. The expansion has also made room for a larger fur salon, luxurious dressing rooms and a full-service kitchen.
Contemporary and designer sportswear shoppers can also enjoy new spaces and collections, including Catherine Malandrino, Alice + Olivia, Ralph Lauren Blue Label, Vince, James Perse and Patterson J. Kincaid, all new to Saks Fifth Avenue Palm Beach this fall.
To celebrate the expansion and welcome the new collections, Saks Fifth Avenue Palm Beach will host a series of special events throughout the season, including a personal appearance by Dennis Basso and trunk shows for collections from Brunello Cucinelli, Chado Ralph Rucci, Akris and Etro.

Saks Fifth Avenue Palm Beach Completes Store Expansion
Victor Divivo, owner of Victor’s Café located between Via Gucci and Via Flora on Worth Avenue, is trying his hand in the jewelry business by opening a store called Byba Bijoux in the former Cartier location at 150 WORTH. The new store showcases classic and contemporary style semi-precious jewelry.
Byba is the main distributor located in Naples, Italy, and Byba Bijoux will be the first store in the United States to sell their jewelry.
“The jewelry is exquisite and I wanted to be the first store in the United States to sell Byba’s jewelry,” said Divivo. “With the tough economy I wanted to offer beautiful jewelry at a reasonable price point,” he added.
The store will feature unique handcrafted jewelry ranging in price from $100 to $500 that is perfect to wear during the day or in the evening. The store hours are Monday thru Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., A grand opening event is slated for November 2009.
